Thank you for taking a moment to learn about us. The Washington State Guides Association (WSGA) is a statewide organization made up of professional, licensed fishing guides and charter operators. Our members represent the full spectrum of sport fishing in Washington—from fly-fishing and conventional tackle to drift boats, river sleds, walk-in trips, and large charter vessels.
It’s All About Washington Fisheries & Increased Opportunity
At WSGA, we believe that no single fishery in Washington is more important than another. For this reason, we proudly represent guides and charter operators who fish every corner of the state, from coastal waters to inland rivers. In fact, our members live and work across Washington, often traveling long distances to provide exceptional fishing experiences for their clients.
A Voice for the Professional Sport Fishing Industry
WSGA is committed to open communication—with our members, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), state legislators, and other stakeholders. Because of this commitment, we continually advocate for the interests of professional fishing guides and charter operators.

As professionals and stewards of our natural resources, we recognize the importance of collaboration to ensure:
- Healthy, sustainable fisheries for current and future generations
- Consistent sport fishing opportunities for anglers across the state
- Long-term job security for guides and charter operators
About Our Commitment and Leadership
The WSGA executive board meets monthly to address critical issues affecting our industry and fisheries. Additionally, we convene emergency sessions as needed. Board members volunteer their time and receive no compensation for their work—rather, they serve because they care deeply about the future of sport fishing in Washington.
Let’s Work Together
We strive to maintain strong working relationships with WDFW commissioners, liaisons, and lawmakers. By doing so, we help shape policies and decisions that impact our industry and natural resources. Together, we work to enhance and protect the sport fishing opportunities that support our members and the communities they serve.
If you’re a licensed guide or charter operator in Washington State, we invite you to join WSGA today.
Through collaboration and shared purpose, we can shape the future of our fisheries—for your business, your clients, and the resource we all cherish.
