Michael Paul Salazar
September 07, 1978 – December 24, 2020
Michael P. Salazar of Salt to Summit Guide Service passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve December 24th, 2020 at his home in Touchet, Washington.
Mike was a full-time fishing & hunting guide. He guided in the following areas; Astoria, Bonneville dam, Drano Lake, Mid-Columbia, Snake River and Brewster.
It has been said by many guides; “He was truly a nice guy.” Mike was always one of the first to step up and volunteer for many veterans and law enforcement fishing and duck hunting events.
Mike is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Katie Wengreen, their two children Michael Jr. (5 1/2 years old) and Sadie Marie (3 1/2 years old).
WSGA had a moment of silence in honor of Mike at the annual membership meeting January 11th, 2021.
At the WSGA executive board meeting February 9th, 2021, the executive board unanimously voted to honor Mike with a posthumous perpetual membership to the Washington State Guides Association.
