Professional Guide Membership is available in one of two options.
Now is the time to join and be a part of a professional organization for sport fishing guides.
The Coast Guard’s jurisdiction for the licensing of passenger vessels and vessel operators extends to all of the “navigable waters” of the United States. Broadly speaking, the application of federal admiralty law for most other purposes is also limited to these same “navigable waters,” so it may be helpful to define this term.
What this means is regardless if you row a drift boat, run a sled, or your clients fish from a kayak. If you operate on navigable waters, you must have a US Coast Guard license (OUPV) and you must be on a random drug testing program to maintain and renew your Coast Guard license.
We offer two membership types for guides and charter operators.
Prorated Dues – Membership is renewed January of the new year. If you join later in the year, your dues will be prorated for the year when you join. You will see the prorated schedule on the next page.
Option #1 – $140.00 annually
You are a guide or saltwater charter and maintain a USCG license and you need random drug testing as part of your membership.

Option #2 – $100.00 annually
You are a guide or saltwater charter and you are already a member of a Drug Testing Consortium or you do not need a random drug test program as part of membership because you do not maintain a USCG license.

Whether you work on navigable waters or not… Participation in the drug testing consortium validates the professionalism of our industry.
It also reduces insurance costs for operation.
